Azfar Tahir was born in Malaysia.
He earned a Bachelor of Economics and a Master of Business Administration from Greenwich College and Clayton State University. He also completed studies in tourism at London City College and pursued additional professional training in real estate in Canada and the United Arab Emirates.
He began his acting career in the late 1980s as a professionally trained performer with Pakistan Television, appearing in television dramas, serials, telefilms, and feature films across English, Urdu, Hindi, and Punjabi languages. He later expanded into hosting, including television quiz shows, voiceover work, and sports commentary, and served as a radio presenter in Toronto. He hosted the talk show “Salam Canada” on TVONE Canada and previously on Rogers Channel 10.
In parallel, he developed an international career in banking and finance, working with institutions including Standard Chartered Bank, Bank Al Baraka, Mashreqbank, and CIBC. He later transitioned into the real estate sector, holding roles with RE/MAX operations in Canada, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman, as well as with Century 21 in Canada.
