In 1934 he became Bachelor of Science, Banaras Hindu University and in 1936 - Master of Science after finishing Allahabad University. In 1938 he became Doctor of Philosophy, Dublin University. 1940 - Doctor of Philosophy, London University. 1947 - Doctor of Science, London University. He has done research in Proto Zoology.
Baij Nath Singh worked as a Soil Microbiologist at the Rothamsted Experimental Station in England from 1942 to 1952. After that he was an Assistant Director at Central Drug Research Institute in Lucknow.
He was member of British Society of Soil Science, American Society of Proto Zoologists, Association of Microbiologists of India, Indian Society of Soil Science and Indian Science Congress Association.
