President St. Joseph Museum Student Fort Riley (Kansas) Training Camp, 1917. Second in command Lieutenant, 1917. With 127th and 104th Field Artillery, American Expeditionary Force.

Organized 35th Division Tank Company, 1923. Retired 1935, as lieutenant colonel on 35th Division Staff. Handled Missouri financing for building river bridge at Rulo, Nebraska, 1938.

Originated name, Missourissippi, for world’s longest river, July 7, 1942. Chairman 1st District Missouri State Council of Defense, 1941-1945.
