Beatriz studied at the University of Puerto Rico in Puerto Rico. In 1994 she received a degree of the Bachelor of Arts. In 1998 she was a student of the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States. She became a Postgraduate. In 2002 Beatriz received a degree of the Master of Arts.
Beatriz worked as a Graduate student instructor in Residential College, University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States from 2000 to 2002. Teaching fellow at the Center Research on Learning and Teaching at the University of Michigan in 2003, graduate teaching consultant, since 2004. Vice-president at the Puerto Rican Literature Students Association in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico from 1996 to 1997.
Since 2002 he was a conference co-chair at the comparative literature intra faculty-student forum at the University of Michigan, United States from 2001 to 2002, conference chair for the 13th annual graduate and professional national student of the color of Rackham conference in 2002, graduate student representative program in comparative literature from 2002 to 2003.
