The firm was founded in Valparaiso in 1914 by Mr.
Carlos Urenda Trigo who became a prominent lawyer in the city which at that time was the commercial capital of the country. In 1982 the firm opened its Santiago office.
Although the firm has been closely identified with the Chilean Shipping community the practice is not limited to Maritime Law as other areas have been always a part of its activities such as Corporate Law, Finance Law, Taxation and Labour as well as general practice and litigation. Close relations with major international firms in New York, London and other important cities as well as in other cities in Chile have been established throughout the years.
