Some years later (probably in the 1880s) Mr. Willis established an office in York and began to practice under his own name. Among his more important works should be mentioned the Zuon Reformed Church, City High School, County Jail, the John M. Free Apartment House, and a number of fine homes, all in York. Mr. Willis also designed the Trinity Reformed Church in Lewiston, Pa., and both public and private buildings elsewhere in the state.
He was elected to tfieA. 1. A. in 1901 and maintained membership in the Southern Pennsylvania Chapter until his death.
