Career
He is currently playing in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Saginaw Spirit. Clarke is rated as a top prospect who, at one point early in his OHL career, was viewed as a possible first round selection in the 2014 National Hockey League Entry Draft. Clarke was then drafted by the Brampton Battalion in the 1st round (15th overall) of the 2012 OHL Priority Selection, and he joined the Battalion for the 2012-2013 season, staying with the team until he was traded to the Saginaw Spirit mid-way through the 2013-2014 season.
Clarke was rewarded for his outstanding play when he was invited to take part in both the 2013 CCM/United States of America Hockey All-American Prospects Game and the CHL/National Hockey League Top Prospects Game.
As a 15-year-old, Clarke was selected to play with Team United States of America at the 2012 Winter Youth Olympics.
