Career
Griffin spent 17 seasons as the head coach of the Rams and is the winningest coach in URI history. He compiled a 100–127–1 overall record. Griffin was born and raised in Milford, Connecticut and graduated from Southern Connecticut State College in 1963, where he played as a quarterback and still holds the record for longest completed pass (87 yards).
