DePaul started his coaching career with the Washington Redskins in 1989. He had coached for eight years for the Washington Redskins and Cincinnati Bengals before he entered the front office of the Philadelphia Eagles. He was the Director of Pro Player Personnel for the Chicago Bears from 2001-2006-19 to 2010-2002-15.
