Graduated from the Leningrad Choreographic School, 1936, and from the choreographers’ courses attached to the school, 1940. Pupil of F. Lopukhov.
From 1936 dancer, Leningrad Maly Opera Theater. From 1941 ballet-master, 1945-1953 artistic director, Leningrad Maly Opera Theater. 1956-1959 chief ballet-master, Leningrad Kirov Opera and Ballet Theater.
Roles: Harlequin in Drigo’s "Harlequinade”. Rent- in Dclibe’s ’’Fadetta”. Kolen in Tshchetnaya predostorozhnost’ (Futile Precaution).
Under L. M. Lavrovskiy’s guidance directed his first ballets: Gladkovskiy’s "Tom Sawyer” (1939). Asaf’yev’s Ashik-Kerib (1940). Deshcvov’s "Bela” (1941).
