Boris Genba was born on 16 February 1937 in the town of Rossosh, Voronezh Oblast.
Genba graduated from Michurinsk State Agrarian University (1964) and Michurinsk State Pedagogical Institute (1966) in Tambov Oblast.
In 1953-1955, Genba was a turner at the Kalinin plant in Voronezh. He taught at Michurinsk Vocational School (1964-1968), medical colleague, Rossosh Vocational School №18 (1969-1989).
Genba was the Director of amateur art activities in educational institutions. He organized various festivals, contests, creative meetings.
In local newspaper “Za Izobiliye” Genba was leading a column “Rozhdeniye Pesni”. He published a lot of information about the works of Voronezh poets and composers.
In 1975-1990, Genba's song “Detstva Flag Moyego” was the theme song of Rossochan radio. Genba’s opuses are coming out on Voronezh and Central radio, television, and are included in the repertoire of many choirs.
He wrote music to such performances of Rossoshan popular theater as “Barabanshchina”, “Ogrableniye v Polnoch”.
Laureate of all-Union competitions of folk art. Genba won the television contest “Tovarishch Pesnya”.
