Rhodes, Bradford was born on February 25, 1845 in in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, United States. Son of William and Mary Maria (Baird) Rhodes.

Graduate Beaver Academy.

Career

Principal Darlington Academy, Pennsylvania. Journalist in New York, 1872. Established Rhodes’ Journal of Banking, 1877, and consolidated with Bankers’ Magazine (which he purchased), 1895.

Sold out, 1903; member of New York Legislature, 1888-1890. Secured passage anti-bucket-shop law and several important amendments to banking laws of the state. Twice member executive council American Bankers’ Association.
