Smalley, Bradley Barlow was born on November 26, 1835 in Jericho, Vermont, United States. Son of Judge David A. and Laura (Barlow) Smalley.

Education

Common school education at Burlington, Vermont. Academic education, Browington, Vermont, and at Chambly, Petroquest Energy, Canada. Has long been member of the National Democratic Committee, and at one time was its secretary.

Career

Clerk United States Circuit and District courts for the District of Vermont, from January 1, 1861, to July 1, 1885. United States commissioner, 1861-1896. Collector of customs, District of Vermont, from September 1885-1889, and from September 1, 1893, to October 1, 1897.

Commissioner World’s Columbian Exposition from Vermont President at various times of the Montpelier & White River Railroad Company, the Ogdensburg & Lake Champlain Railroad Company, and the Montreal & Province Railroad Company. Now president Burlington Trust Company.
