Carl August Blomgren, Swedish theologian. Member American Oriental Society.


Blomgren, Carl August was born on April 1, 1865 in at Solstad, Småland, Sweden. Son of John Peter and Johanna (Daniel) Blomgren.


Came to America, 1875. Bachelor of Arts, Augustana College, Rock Island, Illinois, 1885. Harvard University, 1886-1887.

Augustana Theological Seminary, 1887-1888. Attended lectures Semitic Department, Yale, 1890-1893, Doctor of Philosophy., 1893. University of Pennsylvania, 1895-1898.


Ordained ministry of the Lutheran Church, June 24, 1888. Instructor Mount Airy Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, 1898-1904. Instructor, 1904-1905, professor, since 1905, Augustana Theological Seminary, Rock Island, Illinois.
