He migrated to the U. S. during his youth, and for a few years worked in Boston as draftsman in the office of Peabody & Stearns. It was after the great fire of 1890 in Seattle that he moved to the city, took out natural¬ization papers, and began practice. Among the several important structures he designed was the Northern Life Building (where he established an office), the C. S. Williams Office Building; H. C. Henry private Art Gallery, also schools and many residences.
