He attended Huntington Union School and Flushing Institute.
Then he entered his father"s business and became nationally known as a horse breeder. He was a judge at the National Horse Shows of 1892, 1893 and 1894. He was buried at the Commack Cemetery.
Burr Junior. was a member of the New York State Assembly (Suffolk Company, 2nd Doctorate) in 1896, 1897 and 1898. He was a member of the New York State Senate (1st Doctorate) from 1905 to 1908, sitting in the 128th, 129th, 130th and 131st New York State Legislatures.
