Carlos Reyles was born on October 30, 1868 in Montevideo, Uruguay. His parents were Carlos Reyles and María Gutiérrez. Born into a wealthy family, he dedicated himself to the administration of his properties and made several trips around Europe .
Education
Carlos was educated in the Hispano Uruguayo School of Montevideo.
Career
Carlos made several businesses related to the latifundio inherited from his father, with often adverse results and large expenses, which caused that at the end of his life he had lost an important part of his fortune. He also wrote essays of a social nature. In 1915 he founded the Rural Federation.
Achievements
Carlos Reyles was best known for his novel "La raza de Cain", in which he offers a psychological and sociological analysis of characters from the ranches and cities of Uruguay.
