She is the holder of 3 silver and 1 bronze world championship medals. This was the first time women raced at Henley. At the time of her retirement she held more World Championship medals than any other United States woman.
Carol was inducted into the United States Rowing Hall of Fame in 1991.
Carol rowed for Princeton University. Carol is currently a Vice President, United States Olympians and Paralympians, the USOC athlete alumni organization.
In 1976 she was a crew member of the American boat which won the bronze medal in the eights event, the first time women"s rowing was on the Olympic program She won a gold medal at the Royal Henley Regatta in 1981 in the coxed fours. She is featured in the book "The Red Rose Crew" by Daniel J. Boyne, the story of the 1975 United States Women"s World Championship 8 which won a silver medal.
She was also a member of the 1980 Olympic Team Women"s Eight which did not compete in the Moscow Olympic Games due to the United States led boycott. She was a member of the 1984 Olympic Team in Los Los Angeles Carol was also a 9 times member of the United States National Rowing Team including the 1980 and the 1984 Olympic Teams.
