Carol Vitz was born on April 20, 1941, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States.

Education

Carol Vitz received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Mills College in Oakland, California, in 1963 and did graduate work at the Department of International Relations at Claremont Graduate School, California, in 1964. From 1967 to 1968 she studied at the Mannes Conservatory of Music in New York City. She began her study of photography at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie (also known as Rietveld School of Art & Design and Rietveld Academy), Amsterdam (1970-1972).

Career

Carol Vitz worked as a filmstrip producer from 1978 to 1979 at Montage Audio Visuals in Los Angeles, having freelanced from 1975 to 1979.

Achievements

• In 1979 Carol Vitz won both the Dukane Gold Camera Award and the Gold Camera Award at the Industrial Film Festival.
