Mr. Brown moved to California during the eighties, and settled at Los Angeles. Shortly after his arrival he opened an office and continued in archtiectural practice until a few years prior to his decease.One of his most important commissions was the Stimson Office Building, buijt about 1893 at the corner of Third and Spring Streets, also he was architect of the Puente High School in Los Angeles County
Mr. Brown was a charier member of the old Architectural Association oi Southern California formed in 1892, which two years later was organized as the Southern California Chapter. In 1907 he was elected president of the Chapter and served a term in that office.
