1979: Abitur at the Carl-Duisberg Gymnasium in Wuppertal.

Career

Catherine Hezser is Professor of Jewish Studies at SOAS, University of London. She is also Visiting Professor (Professor II) at the University of Oslo, Norway. Before she came to London she was Al and Felice Lippert Professor and Director of the Herzog Centre for Jewish and Near Eastern Religions and Cultures at Trinity College Dublin.

Achievements

• Catherine Hezser has published numerous monographs, edited volumes, and articles on Jews and Judaism in the Land of Israel in Roman-Byzantine times.
