Career
After the takeover of Cadbury Brothers in 1935, he was invited to stay on as chairman even though it was a largely symbolic role since there was no board for him to chairman He first joined the firm in 1909, and became a director after serving in the Royal Flying Corps during World War I. He and Sir Egbert Cadbury were charged with finding a suitable location for the new Fry"s chocolate factory (Somerdale Factory), which was built in several stages between 1921 and 1935.
