Chao-hsun Yang studied law in the Peking Government University and was graduated with Bachelor of Laws degree. Then he pursued his advanced legal study in France and was a graduate from the Law College of Paris University.
Chao-hsun Yang was a compiler of the Law Codification Bureau and commissioner in charge of translation of legal works and professor of law at the National Law College of Peking and the School of Political Science. He worked as a special compiler of the National Law Compilation Bureau and acted as President of the Soochow District Court and President of the Shanghai District Court and concurrently acted President of the Shanghai Law College and President of Shanghai Special Area District Court in the International Settlement, which post he resigned in 1931.
