Deputy director department for internal organizations and conferences Minister Foreign Affairs, 1975-1979, deputy director American and Oceanic affairs, 1979-1982.

Minister-counsellor Chinese Embassy, Washington, 1982-1985. Ambassador to Fiji, Kiribati and Vanuatu, 1985-1987, United Kingdom, 1987-1991. Under-secretary for technical cooperation for development United Nations, 1991-1992, under secretary-general department economic development, 1992-1993, under secretary-general department for development support and management services, 1993-1996.

Vice-chairman All-China Federation Returned Overseas Chinese, since 1997. Senior consultant China Institute International Strategic Studies, since 1996. English interpreter Chairman Mao, Premier Chou En-lai and other Chinese leaders, 1955-1973.
