Particular care has been given to the use of simple terms, in describing the various parts of the insect, as it has ever been my object to simplify the study of science, by using names readily understood, rather than confuse by the use of more complex appella tions. For convenience, the veins of the wings are Spoken of, as the upper, middle, and lower, but this and the names applied to the various parts of the insect, will be better understood by referring to Fig. 107, Plate VIII, where a full explanation is given.
