He works for the Organization of European Cooperation and Development Development Centre in Paris, where he has been doing research work since 1978. He has published widely in the areas of regionalization, globalization, new forms of investment and corporate governance. More generally, his research focuses on a variety of development economics issues.
He has taught economics at Sciences Po Paris, Ecole nationale d'administration and the American University of Paris.
Charles Oman was raised in Berkeley, California. From 1973 to 1977, he lived in Lima, Peru, where he taught at the Graduate School of Administration (ESAN).
Since 1978, he has been working for the Organization of European Cooperation and Development in Paris.
