Ordained 1869; travelled much in Europe as private tutor or chaplain. Acting Chaplain to the Troops at Aldershot during Zulu War. Held various curacies, 1870-1886, when he turned his attention to elocution and voice-training professionally.
Lecturer in Public Reading and Speaking, King’s College London, 1887-1901.
