He received an early architectural training in the Minneapolis office of L. S. Buffington.
Mr. Waterbury remained in Boston seeking work as draftsman, and after being employed a few years with the firm of Shepley, Rutan & Coolidge, was transferred to their Chicago office. He continued in the employ of the firm until 1901, when he began practice in association with Allen & Irving K. Pond.
In service with the U. S. Army during the early years of World War I, Mr. Waterbury was Captain of the Construction Division in Washington at thé time of his death.
