Coyner, Charles Luther was born on February 8, 1853 in Long Glade, Augusta Company, Virginia, United States. Son of Addison Hyde and Elizabeth (Brown) Coyner.

Education

Graduate Forest Academy and Wesleyan College, Virginia. Studied law, Washington and Lee University.

Career

Doctor William R. Blair. Town clerk, 1874; company surveyor, 1875-1876. Admitted to Virginia bar, 1877.

Moved to Texas, 1877, to Missouri, 1899, to Tennessee, 1902. Admitted to bar, Texas, Missouri, Illinois and Tennessee In Texas was prosecuting attorney 10 years, probate judge 4 years, company judge 4 years. Was appointed by Governor Ireland district attorney and by Governor Roberts district judge.
