(For those who want to appreciate the historical Jesus mor...)
For those who want to appreciate the historical Jesus more as we study the Bible and grow in faith, this book is a wonderful addition to the library. While structured like a text book, it reads more like the stories in the Bible than dense scholarly prose. It places Jesus and the gospels in historical perspective and gives the reader a sense of what the New Testament is saying in a way that is comprehensible and engaging. You do not have to be a seminary student to enjoy this book. For such an ambitious topic, it is a quick read and enjoyable. The reference system in the back of the book allows the reader to check corresponding verses in the Bible.
