Previously, she presented for both BRMB Radio and Radio WM in Birmingham. In February 2009 she was made redundant as part of an Independent Television regional news-output rationalisation. A local Coventry folk-duo, Crokodile Tears, released a record about Neil, entitled "My Favourite Weather-girl".
