Career
He ana Hiromoto participated in the foundation of the Kamakura Sho¬gunate. They were treated with respect by Yoritomo Minamoto because of their reputed learning. In 1186, he was appointed Shugo, or Military Commissioner, of Kyoto. His wife was the wet nurse of Yoritomo’s daughter Samman. He became a priest at the death of Samman and took the priest name of Jakunin. After Yoritomo died, he served the seco,nd and third Shogun, Yoriie and Sanetomo.
