Background

Christopher Dean Shyer was born on May 9, 1961 in New Rochelle, New York, United States. He was the son of Robert M. and Marlene (Fanta) Shyer.

Education

Shyer obtained Bachelor in Economics degree at the University of Vermont in 1983. Also he received Master of Business Administration degree at the Columbia University in 1987.

Career

Shyer began his career as an assistant marketing manager at the Trans-National Trade Development Corporation, he held that position from 1983 till 1985. He became a product manager of household products division, two years later, at the company named Lever Brother Company, he served there for 2 years. In 1989 Shyer started to serve as a brand manager at the Zyloware Corporation. From 1990 he became a director of marketing at the company, he held that position until 1994. A year later Shyer became a vice president at the same organization.

Achievements

• For his achievements as a writer, Shyer won several awards, such as Award of Excellence for Advertising - he received it several times. He also won Washington Irving Book Award and Gustavus Meyers Award.
