Mr. Chu graduated from Tsing Hua College and was sent to America to study finance and banking and attended Wesleyan University at Middletown, Connecticut, between 1916 and 1918 and received his Bachelor of Science degree. Then he studied business and social science at Columbia University from 1919 to 1920 and received his Master of Arts degree. At that time he wrote his thesis on "Investment Banking in the United States".
After completing his studies he joined the Wah Chang Trading Corp. in New York and in 1921 was sent to Shanghai as assistant secretary of the company. Late in the same year Chu Bin-yuan joined the Industrial and Commercial Bank as assistant manager. From 1924 to 1928 he was the head of the department of economics of Tsing Hua University and lecturer on business administration and foreign trade, Yenching University from 1928.
Mr. Chu served as a division chief, Bureau of Statistics, Legislative Yuan and professor on industrial economics and foreign exchange, National Central University. Then he was a member of statistical committee, Ministry of Agriculture and Mining. Later Chu Bin-yuan was appointed director of the Chinese Economic Society and the China statistical association.
