She was elected as a Teachta Dála (Territorial Decoration) for the Waterford constituency at the 2011 general election. Conway seconded the nomination of Enda Kenny as Taoiseach at the start of the 31st Dáil. She lost her seat at the 2016 general election.
A former member of Dungarvan Town Council, she was first elected to the council at the 2009 local elections.
