Bachelor of Science, United States Naval Academy, 1906.

Career

Passed midshipman, United States Navy, 1906-1910, serving in the United States ships Chicago, Charleston and St. Louis, resigned, 1910. Engaged in real estate business and manufacturing, 1910-1917. Recalled to active duty, United States Navy, 1917.

Served as aide to commandant, 13th Naval District. Engineer officer United States Ship Idaho, senior engineer officer United States Ship Columbia, 1917-1919. Chief engineer steam vessels since 1919.

Engineer The Babcock & Wilcox Company, 1920-1940. Commanding officer 2d Fleet Division, 1st Naval District, 1927-1940. Recalled to active duty, 1941.

Assigned as instructor naval science Massachusetts Maritime Academy, Hyannis, Massachusetts, 1940-1943, superintendent, 1943-1946. Present rank commodore, United States Navy Reserve.
