The Expedition: a precarious mixture of cultures and faiths, mingling Turkish soldiers with mountaineers, doctors, scientists, and Islamic holy men...and among them is a traitor. When natural forces melt the glacier and Noah's Ark is discovered intact on desolate Mt. Ararat, the job of rescuing it for the United States fall to Reg Danson. Yet, as he nears the landing-place, having braved the bone-chilling winds, battled the Russian and Kurdish saboteurs, and lost several men to the evils of the mountain, he questions the significance and impact of his mission.

Clint Kelly was born on March 12, 1950, in Portland, Oregon. He was the son of Clinton Russell and Rita Belle Kelly.
Clint Kelly spent high school years at Roosevelt High, where he was on the honor roll for six terms. At Clatsop Community College, Clint distinguished himself as President and Vice-President of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society chapter. He received an Associate of Science degree in Forest Technology in 1969.
Clint Kelly was an author of fiction and nonfiction inspired by his religious faith for both children and adults. He wrote more than six hundred articles for the Everett Herald Newspaper and was a contributor to several periodicals, including American History Illustrated, Catholic Digest, Child Life, Christianity Today, Family Circle, HomeLife, Mothering, New Man, Reader's Digest, Writer, and Writer's Digest. Clint's first adult piece was published at the Mothering magazine in the summer of 1979. He would not limit himself by ordinary advice, he had published in women's publications, children's periodicals, and major national magazines, and have written on topics he once knew little about, including rats, blood, and space exploration. Clint even sold installments of a comic strip he invented, although he cannot draw.
Clint Kelly was the author of seventeen books ranged from adventure novels about the search for Noah's ark, historical fiction surrounding the Armenian Holocaust, to nonfiction works that explore professional gymnastics and intentional parenting. Among Clint's novels for young adult readers were The Lost Kingdom, the story of adventurer Reg Danson and his son as they go in search of a mysterious creature roaming the African rainforest.
Clint Kelly sought out the flawed and the heroic in characters who bleed and grow weary and despair of making the world better than they found it. He is fascinated by mysteries and often sent his characters in quest of answers. Clint also wrote about the Armenian people, people of the Book, descendants of Noah the Patriarch, who during World War I were hounded by the Turks and made the scapegoats for government shortcomings. He wrote about persecuted Christian children of the first century, of the very actual possibility of dragons having once roamed the Earth, and of the continuing dangers of neo-Nazism.
Besides, Clint Kelly was an educator. He served as a communications specialist and senior writer for Seattle Pacific University for thirty years. Clint's love of writing and inspiring others led him to teach writing classes at Discover U, conduct writing workshops, and co-direct the annual Seattle Pacific University Christian Writers Weekend. Also, he was a Presbyterian elder and teacher at the Westminster Presbyterian Church.

2001Clint Kelly was a faithful member of Westminster Presbyterian Church. As an elder and teacher, he was a cornerstone of the church for almost 40 years, bringing humor and wit to Sunday morning announcements Clint loved God deeply. On many mornings, he could be seen with his Bible and a hymnal.
Clint Kelly believed that life "itself even when difficult is a wonderful gift of adventure from an adventurous God." As a writer, he also considered that his readers are wired for adventure and hunger for unique plots, colorful settings, and exotic locales.
Quotations:
"The idea of "ordinary heroes" has long fascinated me. I consider parents to be ordinary heroes, and so I have written books for parents."
"Nothing, of course, is more mysterious than the human condition and to explore that will consume authors, myself included, for as long as we are given to write."
"First, remember that the editor is your partner, not your enemy. Second, never burn your bridges with an editor as the publishing world is a tight community, and you will meet again. Third, think of writing as a giant buffet lunch of opportunity and do not too narrowly define the type of writing you can do. Fourth, challenge yourself each year to pick a new market or genre and give it a try. Fifth, write for magazines as well as pursue books; each feeds off the other. Sixth, say thank you and say it often. Gratitude begets gratitude, thank you, God."
"Never take too narrow a view of what you can do. Be fresh, creative, and open to the possibilities and stand amazed at where the chips fall."
Clint Kelly married Cheryll Doreen Inman on September 11, 1971. They had four children: Stephanie, Shane, Amy Holowaty, and Nathan.
