Colin Cunningham is an award-winning actor, producer, director, and screenwriter, best known for playing Major Paul Davis on the television series Stargate SG-1, Falling Skies, and Centigrade. He is also a tenor saxophonist and is the bandleader for the funk-soul band WHAT-THE-FUNK!
Background
Colin Cunningham was born on August 20, 1967, to Willy John Hannah Cunningham and Kay Cunningham. He was raised in Los Angeles, California with an older sister and younger brother. Cunningham traveled extensively in his late teens and first took to the stage on a dare.

Career
Colin Cunningham started acting after he was dared by his friend to take the stage.
He was part of the founding company of the critically acclaimed Open Fist Theatre in Los Angeles and as an accomplished theater actor, gained critical praise in the early 1990s in Eugène Ionesco's Exit the King. In 1993 he left Los Angeles and relocated to Vancouver, Canada.
After finishing his film-making training at Vancouver Film School, Cunningham teamed up with Canadian actress Madison Graie to found Windowshot Productions, Inc., an independent film production company (1996). They produced music videos and other short films. In 1998 they produced the first award-winning independent film Zacharia Farted. Colin's following works as a producer are Just a Number, A Question of Conscience, Ryan, and Rabid Love (executive producer).
Cunningham appeared in made for television movies, including For the Love of Nancy, Robin of Locksley, Captains Courageous, Dead Fire, Volcano: Fire on the Mountain (also known as Fire on the Mountain), Five Desperate Hours, The Heist, and Mr. St. Nick.
In 2007, Colin Cunningham made a name for himself as a director, when along with actress/producer Madison Graie he made the short-list for an Academy Award Nomination for their film Centigrade. The film in which Cunningham also starred took over two dozen "Best Of" awards and nominations, and in addition to being considered for an Oscar, it became the first short film in iTunes history to break the Top Ten in Feature Downloads, finding itself right alongside such Hollywood blockbusters like Iron Man and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. He also directed the short films Travel Plans and Goal!
On the big screen, Cunningham teamed up with Catherine Keener in Courtney Moorehead Balaker's Little Pink House, has been pursued by Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Sixth Day, and put his life on the line for Jennifer Garner in Elektra. He has also appeared in multiple Indie favorites, including comedic turns in Best In Show with Christopher Guest and Breakfast With Scot.
Cunningham appeared in many television series, including Beggars and Choosers as Herb Kolodny, and Big Sound (Nick Keester).
