Colin Platt received his Bachelor of Arts (with first class honors) from Oxford University in 1958, Master of Arts in 1962. In 1966 he finished University of Leeds with Doctor of Philosophy.
Mr. Platt worked as a lecturer in medieval archaeology at University of Leeds, Leeds, England, from 1962 to 1964. Between 1964 and 1974 he acted as a lecturer in history at University of Southampton, Southampton, England, senior lecturer, 1974-1979, reader, 1979-1983, and professor starting from 1983.
