Flint received his Bachelor's degree from Southwestern State College in 1935, and earned his Master of Theology in 1943, a Doctor of Theology in 1952, and a Doctor of Philosophy in 1974 from Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Cort Flint was ordained a Baptist minister in 1940. His first pastorate was New Haven Baptist Church in Kentucky from 1941 to 1943. Subsequently, he served various Baptist churches in Kentucky, Texas, South Carolina, and Virginia through 1971. He was vice president of the Baptist Theological Seminary at Louisville, Kentucky, from 1952 to 1953, president of Anderson College, South Carolina from 1957 to 1958, and president of his own company, Flint Books International Development Corporation beginning in 1966.
Flint began his literary career by editing The Quotable Billy Graham in 1966. His last book of eight was The Purpose of Love (1973). He also contributed articles to Quote magazine.
