Craig Stevens received his Master of Fine Arts at Ohio University, Athens, in 1975. He received his Master of Arts in Communications at Fairfield University, Connecticut in 1971. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology at Colby College, Waterville, Maine (1969).
Since 1975 Craig Stevens has been an associate director/resident instructor at Maine Photographic Workshops in Rockport.
Craig Stevens is known for his black and white prints. He shot in color for a series of images from Iceland. His work relies on a range of media and styles; traditional black and white silver process, platinum/palladium, color processes, and printing techniques such as Mordançage. He also works with landscape, color studies, panoramic format, and digital printmaking processes.
