Dr.Daisy Spangler shares her amazing stories of being a teacher in Amish country in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. She writes in the preface: "The true purpose of this book is to better acquaint our society with the Amish people and how they have so much that we in our society should adopt from their culture and way of life. They know the true value of loving one's neighbor. They practice this caring in their daily lives. They perform so many services for one another. It is their duty to know a neighbor's needs and help him over his rough periods of daily life. In the months that it has taken me to write this story, this period of my life has been greatly enriched. I have become more fully acquainted with the term love, not only in the classroom but among my pupils, parents, and relatives as well. The therapy I have received is overwhelming. Readers, may you enjoy your journey into an Amish Society and its school system."
