He attended Smoky Hill High School in Aurora, Colorado.
He is best known for his frequent appearances on MTV2"s Guy Code, Comedy Central Radio"s The Bonfire, and Robert Kelly"s YKWD podcast. He began performing stand-up comedy while a student at the University of Arizona. After two years, he moved to New York City to further pursue his career.
He has appeared on MTV2"s Guy Code, Comedy Central"s The Half Hour, Conan, Opie and Anthony, The Anthony Cumia Show, and the You Know What Dude! podcast with Robert Kelly.
Since the firing of Anthony Cumia from the Opie & Anthony Show, Soder has been a frequent guest and "third mic" under the new Opie with Jim Norton format, on what is now the Opie Radio channel on Sirius Satellite Radio. On March 19, 2016, Dan Soder made an special guest appearance on the popular wrestling podcast, Wrestling Soup.
