Dana Asbury was born on May 25, 1953, in El Paso, Texas, United States.

Education

Dana Asbury completed her Bachelor of Arts in Arts and Letters in 1975 at Wesleyan University in Middletown, Connecticut, United States, where she studied with J. Seeley. In 1978, she obtained an Master of Arts and in 1980 an Master of Fine Arts in Photography at the University of New Mexico, where she studied under Betty Hahn and Thomas Barrow.

Career

After graduation, Dana Asbury began her career as a teacher. Since 1978, she has worked at the University of New Mexico. The most important publications are "Isolation and Intrustion" by Tom Patton (1979) and "Self-Portrayal, essay" by James Alinder (1978). Her works as a photographer are "New Faces" for American Photographer (1979); "Photography in the Southwest" (1979); "Photography at the University of New Mexico," Portfolio (1979).

Achievements

• In 1980, Dana Asbury was recipient of a National Endowment of the Humanities Grant.
