Daniel Gustav Arnstein Edit Profile

military , entrepreneur.

Daniel Arnstein was an american entrepreneur.

A rough-hewn six-footer from Chicago’s South Side, he rose from driver of a horse-drawn delivery wagon and part-time pro football player to head the NY Terminal System.

Daniel Arnstein was educated locally.

In June 1941 he became US Commissioner to the Burma Road, where inefficiency and corruption had slowed traffic to a trickle. He quadrupled the volume of shipments within four months but declined Chiang Kai-shek's offer to remain in Chungking and make a fortune running the road as a private concession.
