(This collection of essays is in honor of noted theologian...)
This collection of essays is in honor of noted theologian Donald G. Bloesch written by former students and colleagues representing seven countries. Writing from an Asian perspective, the contributors examine the relationship between theology and culture as found in Scripture, theological thought, the life and work of the church, and in the work of Donald G. Bloesch. Topics range from biblical studies to a consideration of the current emphasis upon spirituality. Evangelism and mission are discussed in considerable detail with specific reference to the rapidly growing church in Korea. The phenomenon of post-modernism and its influence upon modern theology is evaluated.

(Daniel Adams combines insights from both East and West to...)
Daniel Adams combines insights from both East and West to explore models and resources for contemporary theological life. He examines theology from a cross-cultural perspective based on his direct experience with Chinese, Korean, and middle-class American cultures. He focuses on Asia and the Asian contribution to the development of theology, writing not as an outsider but as a participant in the culture about which he writes. His model leads to a new methodology for systematic theology...a new way to understand theology. His work is neither Eastern nor Western but a creative combination of contextual theology in process. His enlightening perspective is most valuable...giving today's scholars and students a foundation for understanding theology and missiology on a global basis. This work is especially helpful in our pluralistic world.
