Moore, Daniel Mcfarlan was born on February 27, 1869 in Northumberland, Pennsylvania, United States. Son of Review Alexander Davis and Maria Louisa (Douglas) Moore.

Education

Lehigh University, 1886-1889.

Career

With Edison Company, 1890-1894. Organizer Vice-President Moore Light Company, and Moore Elec. Company and general manager both companies for 18 years.

A pioneer in commercializing luminous and non-luminous gaseous conduction. Sold Moore Light interests to General Electric Company, 1912. Granted over 100 United States patents on electrical and other inventions, many of them among the earliest in radio, X-ray and tube-lighting fields.

Works

  • Author of many published scientific papers read before universities, colls. and scientific societies Formerly manager Moore Light Department, General Electric Company. Retired, but was active in writing, speaking, inventing the Pianochord, etc.
