Danny Angel was born on April 18, 1919, in Jerusalem, Israel. He was the son of Solomon Angel and Esther Angel.
In his early childhood, Danny Angel studied Talmud Torah. His father wanted to send Danny Angel to study Torah at a yeshiva on the Greek island of Rhode. He refused and decided to study at the secular Rehavia Gymnasium. After graduating from high school, he traveled to the American Univesity of Beirut to study economics and business administration. Then Danny Angel returned to Jerusalem and began studying at the Hebrew University, studying Hebrew literature, history, and philosophy.
"Angel" bakery was founded by Danny's father Salomon in 1927. In 1950, Danny Angel began running the bakery and led a movement that transformed it from a small neighborhood factory into a state-of-the-art industrial bakery. Today, it is spread over five other factories around the country, bakes about a quarter of a million loaves of bread a day, and is considered one of the largest in the world.
Also, Danny Angel was President of LIS Jerusalem Travel Agency and vice president of the Board of Manufacturers Association of Israel.
Acted in public life in Jerusalem and in various public organizations. Among other things, Danny Angel was president of the Variety organization in Israel, president of the Rotary Club in Israel, chairman of the Association for Welfare of Soldiers, and member of the Chamber of Commerce of Jerusalem.
Danny Angel was a man of humor, who in every situation, even the most difficult, stayed positive. He was an exemplary family man, which was the main value that guided him all his life.
