Dara graduated from Banaras Hindu University in 1938, obtained B.Sc. (Met.). In 1943 he became Sc. D. at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Career
Dara started his career as a metallurgist and machine shop foremanat Godrej & Boyce Manufacturing Company in Bombay (1938-1940). Joined Aluminium Laboratories Ltd., Ontario, Canada in 1943. From 1944-1946 he was chief metallurgist at Indian Aluminium Company. Later in 1946 he became director and development officer and worked for Metals in India. From 1950-1955 he was an assistant resident representative at British Aluminium Company. At the same time he was a director of Aluminium Manufacturing Company. From 1955-1962 was a staff assistant at Union Carbide India Ltd. Since 1962 worked as a general manager and director at Industrial Products Division, Union Carbide India Ltd.
