David Martin Bernstein

Background

David Martin Bernstein was born in 1936 in Bronx, New York, United States.

Education

he received a BPA degree from the Brooks Institute of Photographic Arts and Sciences in Santa Barbara, California, in 1956. He attended the University of Alaska in Anchorage 1958-60, was a student of aesthetic realism with Eli Siegel in New York City 1962-78, participated in photography workshops with Lou Bernstein 1968-71 and also attended the New School for Social Research in New York 1973-74.

Career

Since 1979 Bernstein has been a freelance photographer. Previously he was a photography instructor at the High School of Fashion Industries in New York City (1978 -79), a freelance photographer contributing to a variety of publications (1975-78), a photography instructor at the New York Institute of Photography in New York City (1972-75) and also a medical photographer at the Saint Albans Naval Hospital in New York (1968 -72).
